GuitarParrot presents a modernized version of the classic "Follow the Leader" game, now available on your phone or tablet. The game starts at an easy level and gradually increases in difficulty as you progress, offering challenges in all 12 keys and featuring a variety of scale options. Through this game, players can enhance their ability to identify and replicate notes and melodies on their guitar. This skill is particularly valuable for musicians looking to improvise or master new songs, as it strengthens the connection between their musical ear and instrument.
Ear training is a fundamental aspect of musical development, emphasized by virtuoso musicians for its significant role in honing one's musical prowess. GuitarParrot provides a platform for musicians of all levels to engage in this critical practice. With options to customize scales, explore different keys, and extend across octaves, players can challenge themselves to progressively longer melodies, culminating in an 80-note composition at Level 20. Additionally, the inclusion of a Chromatic scale adds another layer of complexity for advanced players.
The game is compatible with iPad or iPhone, enabling players to use the device's built-in microphone or connect a guitar interface like iRig for an enhanced experience. Wired headphones, with or without a microphone, can also be used while playing. Currently, Bluetooth functionality is not supported.
Unlike conventional music games that rely on visual cues, GuitarParrot shifts the focus to auditory skills by requiring players to reproduce melodies directly on their instruments. This approach fosters a deeper connection between the player's ear and musical proficiency.
